Tablecruncher 1.0 is Available Now

Jun 28 2019

Dear fellow Crunchers!

After a long journey with nine public beta releases in nearly two years and more than 10,000 downloads, here is finally version 1.0 of Tablecruncher! It took me way longer than expected, but the final result is, hopefully, worth the long wait.

Some of the key features:

  • Opens, edits and saves even multi-gigabyte files
  • Automatically guesses most CSV definitions and encodings
  • Uses Javascript as a macro language
  • Powerful Find and Replace dialog
  • Export table as a JSON file
  • Offers three well-designed themes

In version 1.0 I’ve been able to reduce memory usage a lot. Tablecruncher can now open and process even extremely large CSV files, and several tasks are now faster than before.

This is not the end of Tablecruncher development, though. I’ll intend to publish updates at regular intervals, so please switch on your update notifications (Tablecruncher > Preferences…) to always get the newest version.

Thanks for all your invaluable feedback so far, and do feel free to ask any questions.

Cheers,
Stefan
